Procalcitonin
Our initial activity, a multi-faceted program launched in 2020, focused on the use of procalcitonin in antimicrobial decision making. We were fortunate to be joined in this discussion by Dr. Jim Neuenschwander, Dr. Michael Broyles, and Dr. Eric Gluck. Their unique perspectives included laboratory, pharmacy, critical care, hospital, and emergency medicine. The panel reviewed the economics of procalcitonin and how it can improve practice behavior and improve patient outcomes. Please complete the brief registration form and allow yourself the time to be educated and entertained as we take a tour of how procalcitonin can be used in the management of lower respiratory tract infections, COVID-19, predicting and treating sepsis, and antimicrobial stewardship.
