The expert faculty of Chris Baugh, MD, Frank Peacock, MD and Allan Jaffe, MD engage in a lively discussion of the value of the Delta Troponin Measurement in the Emergency Department setting.

This video program is accredited for 0.5 Hours of CME/CE Credit and is expected to take approximately 30 minutes to complete.

TARGET AUDIENCE

This activity has been designed to enhance the awareness of the improved management of patients at risk of cardiac injury/death through the use of the newer high sensitivity troponin assay in the diagnosis and management of cardiac events.

EDUCATIONAL GOAL

The goal of this activity is to provide clinicians with the latest updates in the use of high-sensitivity Troponin in the diagnosis and management of cardiac events.  

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Interpret the delta troponin and how to use that information for medical decision making
  • Rely on a local chest pain pathway to help identify which patients would most benefit from further cardiac imaging or stress testing, expedited clinic follow up, observation care or hospital admission
