TARGET AUDIENCE

This activity has been designed to enhance the awareness of the improved management of patients at risk of cardiac injury/death through the use of the newer high sensitivity troponin assay in the diagnosis and management of cardiac events.

EDUCATIONAL GOAL

The goal of this activity is to provide clinicians with the latest updates in the use of high-sensitivity Troponin in the diagnosis and management of cardiac events.

  • Understand the differences in assay reporting and how that may influence clinical decisions
  • Assign a probability of a patient having a MI based upon risk categories and High Sensitivity Troponin values
